bathroom troubles

I havent been able to go poop & my husband is also having trouble.  If & when I am able to poop, it like small rocks.  I never feel like I need to poop, I am sooo bloated & gaining weight.  I take meds for rheumatoid arthritis, I am a type 1 diabetic also have thyroid problem & take meds to "protect organs" from meds for said health issues.  But then theres times when I dont feel like I need to go but when I do its like a bomb goes off & I have filled the toilet.  Theres not any blood either way.

My husband is constantly complaining of stomach pain.  When he poops the bathroom smells like mildew.  I know thats weird way to describe it but, literally smells like mildew/musky.  He doesnt have blood either, he's also gaining weight because of not being able to poop.

He doesnt like veggies but he does take a fiber choice chewey pill daily.  I like veggies but dont eat them like I should.  I drink water & green tea.  I dont understand how or why our bodies are doing this to us.....want to be comfortable & dont want our son to have issues pooping.

Our son is 6 & sometimes says he cant poop but his stomach is hard.  He doesnt poop daily either, is that normal for his age?

Sorry, but you have to have fresh fruit and veggies and other fibers in your diet or you get impacted in your colon. Not a problem I've ever had. I've been a big veggie fan all of my life. My cholestoral has always been perfect because of it and I love the variety of color and flavors that come from fresh fruits and veggies.

Check the side effects for your medications for a listing of constipation. Since you are taking combination of medications, this can multiply the effect. Make sure you are drinking water through out the day. Try increasing your fiber intake slowly or you will have terrible gas. I take magnesium daily and it helps with constipation. Pooping those little rocks is very hard on your colon and will cause you problems later. It is like drying your hands with sandpaper. Depending on the grade of paper, it can be very rough. (Sorry for the bad pun.)

Isn't constipation a common side effect of thyroid problems? Ask your doctor for advice, which might be a daily fiber type laxative.

Try googling "home remedies for constipation". I have to be careful not to drink a hot liquid before going for a walk. That will get things moving for me.

Normal for pooping can vary from several times a day to a couple times a week.
