husband had surgery due to ulcer . and had 40% of stomach removerd . has not been able to eat. states he feels stopped up and food does not go through.and continues to lose weight. need suggestions in order to help . and also would gastric pacemaker be of benifet.
Vw, what type of surgery did he have when the stomach removal was performed? Different forms of the surgery to correct severe ulcerations can result in different forms of problems.
Welcome to the gastroenterology community! Has he been evaluated for gastroparesis with a gastric emptying scan? How many calories is he getting each day? I don't think a gastric pacemaker would help because gastric pacemakers help with nausea and vomiting but they don't actually speed up the emptying of the stomach.
