I have a question.. i have a soon to be 7 year old (nov) he has several medical issues and will be tested for noonans syndrome back a few years ago he had very loud breathing, of course right away his cardiologist said it was asthma, tested no asthma. it was coming from his throat... his ENT did another bronchoscopy and noticed he had a 29% narrowing in the subglottits area.. he also removed a scar ban, most likely due to all the times he was intubated..leaving him with a 19% narrowing and breathing 100% better,oh prior to this he would be choking on foods and liquids of any texture.. after that no issues. for the winter months he had him on previcaid because he wanted no irritation n his throat at all (he also had a case of epiglottits and aspiration pneumonia) test revealed no GERD.. he started back in this winter like in Feb with choking on food, so far the only thing they feel it can be is fatigue because at first it was only happening at dinner (he is almost 7 and still has to take a 2-3 hour nap every day he sleeps by 830 at night and most of the time is up by 6 sometimes later. and most of the time sleeps all night) they have done another modified swallow test on him.. it only shows the the food is being "sucked" down his throat for no appearant reason. he isn't trying to swallow or anything.. they feel it is either still fatigue, even though it is happening during the day now too and it isn't all of the time maybe 1-2 times a week..or a structure abnormality..
now can anyone really tell me what they look for **** the endo? they are gong to do a bronc as well to see if the narrowing has gotten worse again... he is only 6 and when he chokes on food where i have to do the back blows or Heimlich it scares me as i fear one time it isn't going to help...how long does it take to "recover from an endo i know you most likely go home, but I think he will be an impatient due to his history but as far as pain in your throat. do you get tummy pains or anything like that... thank you
