foam like bubbles in my mouth and throat

For many months now I have had foam like tiny bubbles in my mouth and throat. So thick it is often hard to swllow pills. Have checked with Primary Doctor, ENT doctor, lung doctor, even took swallow tests. No one seems to have any answers. This is so thick I have to WIPE it out of mouth with a Kleenex several times a day. Have tried Musinex, and other things but NOTHING seems to work. Doctors do not offer ANY answers. Does any one else have this problem or HOPEFULLY a solution? I am a male 68 years old, not overweight, have Type 2 Diabetes that is completely under control. I am looking for ANY help with this that I can get.

This discussion is related to gaseaous mucus and venting from stomach.

I have the same problem.  Mine started 4.5 months ago, when I was released from the hospital for back surgery.  I have now been treated with: cough medicine, zantac, zyrtech, oral steroids (2 weeks) steroid inhalers, musinex and sudaphed, and two weeks of erythromycin:  that all did not help but it did give me thrush.  Then I was treated 3 times for oral thrush.  I have now had:  lung exrays,  MRI, CT upper GI, Endoscopy, and found my food was not emptying.  So I  took a "stomach emptying test" that actually came back NORMAL.   I saw a dentist, who said this was bad for my teeth, and had me see a Oral Medicine Doctor, who thinks it is in my head, but he gave me 105.00 worth of oral thrush medicine in case.....  I found relief only on a trip to the desert where I was very active for 2 days.  The third day I felt NORMAL.  I returned to the Bay Area and it came back full force by 4 days.  HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I don't have an answer as of yet. But I experience something similar I think. I have really fine bubbles/foam. Kind of Looks like very fine soap suds at the back of my throat. Not a lot but enough that I sometimes have to sour or out. I feel that it is accompanied by a tightness in my chest as wel as sort of difficulty breathing. It feels like I have an abundance of mucus/stickiness in my esophagus/chest to the point where eating/breathing/even talking/singing is not as effortless as it used to be. A few weeks ago I had a seemingly random bout of really bad acid reflux accompanied by difficulty swallowing at times. Doctor said my lungs sound fine.(haven't had an xray) or anything else. I feel that most times the only time I can get a satisfying breathe is when I force myself to yawn. I feel I'm going crazy. Anyone know what this could be? I have a plane trip scheduled next week and I'm nervous that because of the pressure on the plane, that I'm going to have an even more difficult time breathing.

I have this. At first my thoughts were strep throat because i have a small sore on my esophagus but i have it awhile now. Sore throats are only suppose to last 3 weeks to a month and it has been longer for me. Plus the thick mucus and saliva is ongoing. Ive tried nyquil and robitussin both have been effective in minimizing and for days at a time muting the cough though. I know that acidic foods can create a lot of mucus and thick saliva but i dont know that if it can be cured. I just woke up coughing up mucus forcing another glob of mucus out (dbl whammy) i thought my gosh am i filled with this puss and can it be drained somehow. I don't have the answers yet. This was posted 5 years ago. If anyone can share some wisdom on the subject that'd be nice.

I thinks it's allergies. I have this problem every fall. I awoke several times last night, choking on these bubbles and what felt like debri stuck to one side of my throat. It feels like I've breathed in a paint chip.

I have been having the very same thing happen for about 4 months now.  I have to spit the tiny-bubbled foamy saliva in the sink or in a cup, sometimes it seems like a hundred times a day.  I also have thick mucous in my mouth constantly.  It all seems worse when I eat or drink anything sweet/sugary.  I saw an ENT with a great reputation but no answers there.  It is very annoying.  I am not enjoying food as much either.  Any answers yet?

I have the same thing! I've been experiencing it since my early 20's. I thought I was crazy. People laughed at me whenever I tried to explain to them. It's so annoying and frustrating. I too have to wipe my mouth a few times a day or continue to spit them out in the sink. I would love to know what all of this is.

I just saw on Mystery Diagnosis a few weeks ago an episode about a girl who had suffered symptoms for months and finally starting foaming at the mouth. They scoped her throat etc and I think there was a tear or something.

Jd, have you been checked for either stomach issues like H. pylori and gastritis, or esophageal issues? Some people with gastritis/esophageal issues experience what you're describing.
