For gallbladder polyps greater than 1 cm, cholecystectomy is generally recommended. For gallbladder polyps less than 1 cm, follow-up and management have been conflicting but recently attempts have been made to reach consensus/joint guidelines. Nothing has been shown to retard the growth of gallbladder polyps at this point. The current recommendaiton for polyps in the GB is the same as for other polyps - get them removed. In the case of GB polyps it means having the GB removed since they can't be taken away in any other manner.
