hernia surgery repair

I had an open repair of inguinal hernia.  Incision is approximately 4 inches long.  How long will I have pain and tenderness with this?  I have no fever, and have already had followup with the surgeon with no return scheduled.

I am wondering the same thing...I had my surgery 3 weeks ago and
the entire area is very sensitive...seems to be healing well but feels
like the nerves all around the incision are agitated...like a bad rash that
hurts when clothing is even touching it...Is this something you are experiencing
and I was wondering if it was normal to have this going on.  It doesn't seem any
better day to day.
