left side pain worse at night

OK, so I have been having pain in my left side between my rib and my waist.  This has been going on for several weeks now. When it started, they thought it was a gynecological problem so I have had a pelvic ultrasound and then a pelvic and abdominal CT scan.  The only thing it showed was a cyst on my left ovary.  My GYN said the pain I am having isn't because of that cyst.  My GP sent me to a Gastoenterologist, who is going to do an endoscopy next week.  I am just curious if there is anyone else out there who has this kind of pain - where the pain gets worse as the day goes on - and if they have had any sort of diagnosis, or treatment that has worked.  Thanks!

Does the pain get worse if you apply pressure to the area affected? Sounds like it could possibly be diverticulitis.

Not particularly - it feels like I need to hold my side in order to control the pain - dunno if that is just mental or what.  What other symptoms come with diverticulitis?

I'm having this sort of issue now.  Did you ever get a diagnosis?
