marshmellows

I have resently had my large bowel removed and am have trouble with diarrea, can i take marshmellows to slow the discharge. Are there any other things that I can take to slow the bowel down, I use imodium also. I have resently developed and rash around my anus from wiping so regularily, I have B/M 8 to 10 times a day and is causing pain and burning what can I use that will help and control this.

Rick, go to the search box at the top of the page and type in Morecambe. It will bring up some posts, but you need to go to the bottom of those and hit the 'View More Posts' button. Somewhere in some of those posts, you'll find reference to the diet he follows to control the diarrhea. I'm sorry I don't have the direct link, but my computer went bye-bye a couple of weeks ago and I'm just rebuilding all the information I had on the hard drive.

Rick, I'm not sure about the marshmallow idea, but you may want to consider reading some of the posts by Morecambe. He had his large intestine removed and has put together suggestions for handling the types of problems with diarrhea that you're now facing.
