metabolism, bug, or WHAT!

Okay a year ago around this time i developed what I thought to be an anal fissure, but my doctor says it's not a fissure but a tear/scratch. i guess from me waiting too long to go when i had too, which dried out the stool and caused constipation...well i strained and even sometimes...*gross alert*.. spread my cheeks and pushed hard. any who i didn't worry about the tear, i thought it would heal on it's own and that would be it...well i still have it; accompanied by a boil like thingy that busted but hasn't fully healed either. i believe the reason why neither of them has healed is because of my frequent BM's. i used to go once a day but now it's 3-4 times daily. i don't know if my metabolism has caught up or because of all the diary destroyed my GI system. there's blood in the stool or on the tissue always(sometimes gelatin like) and only recently and only sometimes mucus. now i don't know if the blood and mucus is internal or coming from the sores right outside the rectum. i rarely ever have stomach pains though. but i have been having chest pains for a month now...can anybody help this mess with his mess??

Hi there!

Well, without a detailed clinical evaluation it would be difficult to determine the cause of your symptoms. The chest pain is unlikely to be related to the presence of fresh blood in stools and would require an evaluation by a primary care physician for an accurate diagnosis and appropriate management.
Presence of fresh red blood in stools is known as haematochezia in medical terms and indicates a lower GI bleed like piles, rectal ulcers, fissures, fistulas etc. Rarely a few infections/ inflammations may also present with fresh blood in stools. It would be best to consider an evaluation by a primary care physician or a gastroenterologist for a detailed evaluation and suggestion of an appropriate management plan.
Hope this helps.

Take care!

Hello,
The common causes of bleeding from the anus are anal fissure, haemorrhoids, diverticular disease, inflammatory bowel disease and colon cancer. It is important to see a doctor to evaluate any blood in the stool. A detailed medical history will help your doctor locate the site of the bleeding. For example, a black, tarry stool are mostly caused by a  problem in the upper part of the digestive tract while bright red blood, or maroon-colored stools, usually indicate a problem in the lower part of the digestive tract, such as hemorrhoids or diverticulitis. A per rectal examination and colonoscopy will be helpful. Eat a high-fiber diet   and drink plenty of fluids and water to relieve constipation that can cause and aggravate hemorrhoids and anal fissures. Sit in warm or salt baths to relieve fissure symptoms. Treatment involves treating the cause of bleeding. See a doctor ASAP.Keep me posted.
Best luck and regards!
