GASTRIC FEEDING TUBE VANISHED

MY 81 YR OLD FATHER WITH ALZHEIMER HAD A PEG ( FEEDING TUBE) FOR 4 MONTHS NOW, BECAUSE HE COULD NOT INGEST ANY FOOD ORALLY. ABOUT ONE MONTH HE SUDDENDLY RECOVER HIS ABILITY TO EAT THROUGH HIS MOUTH,  BUT A FEW DAYS AGO THE FEEDING  TUBE  WAS SUCKED INTO THE STOMACH SPONTANEOUSLY, WHAT COULD HAVE CAUSED THIS ?  WHAT ARE THE DANGERS.

I am very sorry for the loss of your father.  I am even more sorry that you lost him due to malpractice of others.

I just want to thank you for taking the time to respond to my question, indeed the feeding tube put on my Dad did not have that "button" ,  7 days after being sucked in without receiving inmediate attention from these incompetent doctors, sadly my Dad passed away.

Welcome to the gastroenterology community!  There should have been something on the outside of the body to prevent the tube from being sucked in.  If his didn't have this "button" on the outside it sounds like their may be some malpractice issues.  He needs an endoscopy ASAP to remove this.
