I had my gallbladder out in 1987 and I still get the occassional attack (that's what i call it since it feels as if my gallbladder is still there). The one thing that I find helps (I know it sounds crazy) but I jump up and down and that seems to make the pain go away. I've told my doctors but they say that's impossible. I have new doctors since then but I don't bother to say anything anymore, it's just another thing wrong with me. I read somwhere that if the surgeon doesn't check all the valves or whatever they are, you could have a stone in one of them after they take your gallbladder out. I feel it's too late for me (just dealing with everything now) but since your's hasn't been too long, have them check that.
Yes, I feel with her.
Gallbladder removed 3 years ago. 2 years later 8 ERCP's.
Diagnosed with Sphincter of Oddi dyfunction and pancreatic divisum after first ERCP.
Went through 5 different docs before that. They all thought I was crazy.
ERCP's were done with cutting the sphincter, balloons, botox injection and stents....nothing helped.
Had 4 weeks ago a surgey called transduodenal sphincterotomy with pancreatic minor duct sphincteroplasty.....aweful surgery with 8 days in hospital. lots of pain....
Now my constant pain is gone but I still have bad daily attacks of pain. Surgeon said maybe need to do a Roux en Y surgery. I dont know how bad of a surgery that is but the surgeons dont like to do it....
Maybe my story helps...
I had my gallbladder removed one week ago. The four holes they made are curing very well. I have VERY sharp pain in my lower left abdomen are. It doesn't hurt if I am just sitting still. Has anyone else had this problem?
Yep, I am going through that myself. Be her advocate, keep pursuing it!!
