Are my ear piercings able to be removed?

I had my ears pierced a few years ago by force and never removed them. Now there is a dirt buildup under the back. The front has some yellow discharge of some sorts and my right ear is in a little discomfort. I think the skin has grown over my piercing. Should I go to the ER and would they be able to put me under anesthesia? I cannot stand the pain and would probably pass out.

Hello~I am sorry you were forced to have this done, most of us beg for it.

It would appear that your ears are starting to get infected from lack of proper cleaning, since it has gone on for so long, I would see your physician for some help. Possibly doing it home could make the condition even worse. I hope you feel better soon.

You were forced to get your ears pierced?  I had to beg and beg to get mine done (a long time ago). So, this is not ER worthy in my opinion. That's for emergencies and is very expensive.  However, if you have tried to pop it out, used rubbing alcohol to clean out the excess dirt and that isn't working, then go see your family doctor or urgent care.  They can guide you.  I don't think they will put you under anesthesia but they may rub some lidocaine on it which will numb it. That's my best suggestion and I'd do it sooner rather than later.
