Can anyone tell me if this infected sore is anything to be worried about?

I am a 23 year old male, I recently noticed a sore on my buttocks and didn't think much of it until I noticed it wasn't going away and had a kind of yellowish crust to it. It is currently slightly smaller than my pinky fingernail. I am slightly worried about MRSA, however I don't have a fever. Including a link to the close up of the sore if that would help anyone diagnose this. https://drive.google.com/file/d/16iSB8_2fXEqGnxG9IthDYNui4n7qR3Lc/view?usp=sharing

Hello~I just looked at it, I don't like the looks of it or the fact that there appears to be some red around it, I would definitely see you GP, I know they cost, but in the long run, you may end up spending more money if you wait as it could lead to a bad infection.

You can have MRSA without having a fever. You should definitely get it checked by your doctor, though, since its not going away. Even if it's not MRSA, it could be something else that needs an antibiotic to heal.

I just switched jobs and my new jobs health insurance hasn't taken effect, can over the counter antibiotics help?
Are you in the US? There aren't any oral OTC antibiotics.

If you are in another country, you may be able to get some, but you run the risk of taking the wrong one, and if you need to have it cultured at any time, antibiotics can cause problems with testing if taken within a few weeks of testing.

Have you tried any ointments like neosporin or anything? I'd start with those before taking anything orally.
Thank you, used a triple antibiotic cream, and it has started looking a lot better. Will keep using the cream till it goes away completely.
