Cut my knuckle off with a can opener is it now infected.?

I was opening a can with a can opener and i slipped and cut the tip of my knuckle off, the skin still stayed on by a thread. One month later it looks healed except its a lump and its quite squishy and very very itchy, is this still healing or has it got an infection.?

The bump is scar tissue. The itching is the healing process. Keep it as stable as you can until the skin has completely joined/grown back. It may be sore for a few months, depending on how bad the cut is. I am a construction worker and I have these hand injuries a couple of times a year if not more. : )

Cuts that become infected, don't usually heal over well, and if they do, they will break open again. If it isn't red and inflamed, and hot to the touch, it's probably fine. Once it's been healed for a while, don't be surprised if that spot becomes hard to the touch. It''s something that happens to scar tissues sometimes. Once it's completely healed, it will probably soften and just leave a little scar. I have one just like it on the on my left hand, on the knuckle of my pointer finger. Been there for many years.

Hi, Ive done that many times. Sounds like its still healing but your moving your finger and affects the knuckle where the cut was so its healing and bruising again. For a  cut to heal properly, it should be stable. If your worried maybe have your doc check it out.
