Finding a good doctor (EBM, LE)

Hi,

I am looking for a good general doctor. I want to make sure that my annual checkups are thorough and worthwhile. I am interested in doctors who practice holistic medicine, evidence-based medicine (EBM), and anti-aging medicine (life extension or LE). I also want to avoid quacks.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Evidence-based_medicine
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Life_extension

How do I find such a doctor? Are there organizations / websites that rate doctors in these areas? Any recommendations for such a website? Or, can you recommend a doctor in the DC area?

Thanks.

Agree with aldunn72023, ask friends and co-workers; definitely people whose judgement you trust.

Do a "google" search of the type of doctor you are interested in in your state, then, refine that to the town, etc. After you get some names, call them and ask them questions.

You're right. Even if I wasn't looking for a doctor with a specific view of medicine, I think it would still be tough to find one that's not a quack! :) ... Just thought I'd ask on the forum to see if someone had ideas...

Good luck finding a doctor that is not a quack these days.  Your best bet is to talk to your friends and coworkers and find out who they use.  Also do a little research on the doctors in your area.  Sorry I couldnt be of more help.
