Help with severe headaches.

I keep getting really bad headaches. The headaches are at both the base and front of my head. My teeth and jaw starts hurting when I get these headaches. I get really dizzy. Sometimes my hearing kind of goes out when the headaches happen. Tylenol does not help much at all. Does anyone know what I can do?

Hello~It sounds like you may have a TMJ issue.  This issue can cause head-aches, ear-aches and other issues including vertigo and even vision disturbances. I would see your dentist and have him look at your teeth and jaw, sometimes all it takes is a simple mouth device to stop the symptoms and to feel better.

Oh, and also, some chiropractors can help the issues you are having as well, I would also make an appointment to see one, he/she will take an x-ray of your neck, then study it and go over it with you. After a few adjustments, you should start to feel better, and they are perfectly safe if you are pregnant.

Ash,
We can not suggest anything for you to take, because that should come from your doctor and OB.

Do you clench your teeth or jaw? Grind your teeth?
The headaches can be caused by your anxiety levels.
Your primary can evaluate and if you are clenching your jaw/teeth, a dental mouth Guard could help with that.

I do not grind my teeth when I am awake. I do not know if I grind my teeth when I am sleeping. I just want to know what to take when it happens so I can stop the pain. Tylenol does not really work. I can’t take ibuprofen, because I am pregnant.

Ash, you need to let your OB doctor know about your headaches. Since you are pregnant they should be monitoring any symptoms and advising you on how to proceed. I hope the resolve soon.
