Thank you all for your opinions. I'm getting everything together, so I can get to the eye doctor asap.
I agree that you should get another opinion. Whenever you see any black spots in the center of your vision, it can be a sign of retinal detachment so that needs to be ruled out. If it turns out to be a floater, then you don't have to worry about it, just something you have to learn to live with. Sometimes floaters just appear and then just as suddenly disappear, or stay around for years. Floaters can be removed by a procedure called a vitrectomy, but that can be risky, also sometimes by laser, but that is something only a qualified opthamologist can discuss. Good Luck!
yes get checked for cataracts and glaucoma my dear by a licesened eye doctor and go from there. good luck hun.:)
Any eye doctor that would send you away when you say you have a black spot blocking your vision isn't one I would want to go to. Here is the thing, it isn't normal to have this so you need to go and see someone else. The doctor has written you off. Unfortunately, you need to take matters into your own hands and go and get another opinion and don't leave without a diagnosis.
