I have a cut on the back of my right leg, on the outside edge, right where the knee bends. The cut is not deep, it's more that an area of top layers of skin about the size of a quarter of a dime was scraped off. It's been 8 days since the cut and it's only slowly healing. Given the location of the wound, even walking disturbs the area, even if only slightly. For faster healing, am I better off staying off my feet, or would a light hike of 1.5 miles - 400-500 feet of elevation be good exercise to get the blood flowing?
I went to a minute clinic to ensure the wound was not infected - the redness around the area was just bruising (I fell during a trail run). Was told to keep with my routine of changing gauze dressing daily. They gave me some topical antibiotic cream which I have applied every other day. There has been some amount of red/brown/yellow discharge catching on the dressing each day so far, but the amount is definitely decreasing.
