Large Scalp Laceration not healing?

About a month ago I scalped myself most literally. About a 5 x 2 cm section of my scalp was ripped back. I got 28 staples and started healing. I got the staples removed two weeks ago and everything is somewhat fine with the healing process. The section of skin on my scalp is still very swollen hindering the ability of it to be smooth and heal with my scalp. It's been a month since the injury and a 1 cm section of the laceration has not completely closed and still bleeds. There is commonly a scab and I try to clean it best I can. Should I be concerned that it is still so swollen and hasn't closed completely? I don't know if I should go in and get it checked out? There are no signs of infection it just hasn't closed yet.

The issue with scalp injuries is that the tension on the injury to tear apart again is always there - you may need to get the injury cleaned up again at a hospital and more staples put in.  Sometimes it does take a long time to heal, but it will eventually, especially if you get it looked at again
