Morning sickness for 18 months

Hi am 30 and for the past 18 months I have been vomiting daily from the moment I get out of bed. It's generally worst in the morning and sometimes settles by midday. If I am really sick I can't keep anything down for days.  I get headaches, nose bleeds, horrible spots on the top of my back, mouth ulcers and constantly feel washed out. It's ruining my life especially as I work full time and study full time and am struggling to conceive.  I have been tested for diabetes, phantom pregnancy, hormone imbalance, celiac disease, infections in my digestive system and had the camera down my throat which revealed damage to my oesophagus n some reflux.  I have tried several types of tablets which don't work and anti sickness drugs that dint work either.  I have hardly no gums left under my two front teeth because of it.  I am feelin so down n emotionally n physically drained and dreading yet another trip to my gp who does not seem to have a clue. I have had liver function test, gall bladder check, stool, blood and urine samples.  Please help I am desperate for any ideas or advice !! Thanks

Hello, You must be so frustrated, I am so sorry.  That is a horrible thing to have to go through.  My daughter is 25 and has a diagnosis of Chrons she had the same thing as you sound like for two years and even to this date she throws up at the slightest thing. In the Mornings are worse or if she eats a big meal.  I don't know if/or what one has to do with the other but they told to eat a gluten free, dairy free, seed free, and low in acidic foods diet hard, VERY, but it works she only gets sick once or twice a week now VS daily.  Might look into Chrons and see if any of the other symptoms match.  I know that Chrons is a digestive tract problem, several websites are available and if it is related to vomiting I do not know I am not a doctor but I know that my daughter sounded just like you before she changed things up. No medication would work for her, she was miserable.

I wish you all the luck and hope you find some relief soon.

The damage to the oesophagus is due to you vomiting for so long and as a result of the acid reflux.

Go back to your doctor and ask him to prescribe you with Gaviscon (if you haven't already had this) or Pantoprazole.

Also ask your doctor (if you have not had this done) to check you out for Helibacter Pylori.  This is done stool or breath tests.  Blood tests give false readings.

Make sure you eat a healthy balanced diet.  Keep off all fried and junk food.  Do not drink fizzy drinks or alcohol and cut down on your tea and coffee consumption.  Stick to water.  Don't eat or drink before going to bed.

Sleep slightly elevated, so that the gastric fluid does not come flowing back up to your oesophagus.

Keep a diary of all foods and drinks that you consume, and jot down how you feel to see if you can identify what is causing the problem.

When you get up in the morning, try and have something to eat, like a piece of toast or an arrowroot biscuit.

Best wishes.
