Problems urinating?

My entire life, I've had a problem using the restroom in public. Even at home, if '' anyone can hear me, my body will NOT let me go. Everyone says it is just in my head, but no matter how hard I try to get my mind on something else, or try to force myself, it just doesn't happen. I recently got over an upper respiratory infection as well as a severe sinus infection. I became dehydrated while being sick, as well as my daughter so I bought a few jugs of pedialite. She is fine now, and I feel as though I am hydrated but every since then, it doesn't matter if someone is around or not, it takes me forever to go. I have been drinking a lot of fluids, and feel the need to go, it just takes forever to get it out. Even when I wake up in the morning, I can't go. Idk what's wrong, but I need help! Thank you in advance to anyone who comments.

Are you on any medications- like do you take antihistamines like Benadryl or cough & cold preparations regularly? They contain ingredients that might promote urinary retention.

recommend you have doc check your kidney functions. if all turns out well, turn the water on high in the bathroom so it would be impossible for them to hear you pee.
