Random bouts of feverish nausea and headaches

Hi I'm a 22 year old male and for a long time now i've been suffering from this weird un-explainable condition where sometimes (I'd say on average once a week/ two weeks) at night mostly (can't remember if I've had it in the day) I get these fairly intense sensations of nausea and headaches and a raise in temperature. Like a sort of feverish malaise. The headache isn't painful or specific in pain within a particular region it's just a kind of hot sick feeling. And the nausea is the same even though its more intense, i never vomit though (although last night i came close to it).

The problem is is that it's so erratic that i can't quite pin point what it is even though I get it fairly regularly. I thought it was a stress and health problem but it the time of writing this I've gotten a lot healthier in the last few months and excercise regularly (run 5 times a week) and watch my diet and the only thing i do is drink a normal amount, still no change. Also my stress levels haven't been that bad. And the main problem is i'll be having a fine, healthy day like yesterday, go to sleep stress free, but as soon as i hit the pillows like a half an hour in I start feeling this sickness (not anxiety or stress related i know what that feels like) and it just escalates quite a lot. Lasts a few hours too, and can feel the after effects the next day.

If improving my health or stress levels hasn't helped then I really dont know because apart from that im pretty much all good, the only thing i can narrow it down to is some kind of food problem because it happens at night and when i'm about to sleep which seems like the after effects of something the food has done. But i didn't eat anything out of the ordinary so that's strange. Can any kind of food or digestive problem have this effect? I doubt it's even food related but i'm just taking a shot in the dark..

Anyone got any suggestions?

Hello~It could be due to food sensitivities or even GERD. I know with my hiatal hernia, if I eat before bed, I get lots of acid reflux, but, it can also manifest itself other ways as well. Folks can develop allergies to food sometimes over night, you see, our system changes every 5 years, so, what you could handle one time, you may not be able to handle the next. Add a good, high potency, pro-biotic to your diet, this might help put the friendly bacteria back in your gut and stop those pesky feelings.
