Remorseful-- Stunted growth?

Hi everyone,

I'm here to ask a question that's been bothering me for a while. I was wondering if it was any way possible for me to have stunted my growth as a teenager from cases related to jock itch. I got an annoying case of jock itch during my teen years and sometimes would wake up scratching my private area, and then fall back asleep. I don't remember how many times I would wake up at night, and how frequently this would occur, but if I can remember it happened, it must have been quite a bit.

The problem is, I know hormones are released during sleep and I've read some scientific studies that show hormones can be disrupted in this fashion. If this went on during my teenage years (say 15-17), could it have stunted my growth? I didn't think much of it at the time, because I felt right back asleep, and during the day it wasn't nearly as bad. Looking back, I can't help but wonder if it had anything to do with my relatively short stature.

Is this true, even considering the disturbed sleep part?

Thank you again

You can relax,

Jock itch or tinea cruris is a fungal infection and althought annoying has no effect on a persons height. Your pituitary gland is what produce's your growth hormone.
