Struggling to figure out health problem.

Hello everyone.

I've been dealing with complex issues since late January/early February that I hope to resolve soon...

I was extremely healthy until these issues developed late January, and I want my life back.

I felt a fluid backflow from my pelvis in my sleep, I've experienced more weakness and shortness of breath, especially when digesting and while sleeping. And then I've experienced burning sensations in my feet and right hand.

I'm not sure why I feel this way. I've been scouring over the internet for answers, and I'm trying to be more effective with medical appointments so that I can heal as quickly as possible. Thus far, I don't think GERD explains everything because even eating alkaline foods still leads to backflow and reflux that I feel from my pelvis to my throat, and carafate led to shortness of breath. At the ER, they've found a liver cyst they considered benign, and a fibroid without details, just a referral to a gynecologist.

I did have an ultrasound, and it's a small fibroid. I'll find out later today if it was enough to wreak havoc on my digestion, breathing and nerves...Or if something else is involved. My digestive, energy levels and emotions seem to be worse with the menstrual cycle over the last two months.

Since late January, I've been experiencing shortness of breath and fluid backflow and buildup from right pelvis/abdomen, especially when exerting myself enough, when digesting I'm not sure if I have a spinal cord injury from a workout late January that led to digestive, breathing and bowel problems (not complete, but it's like I felt digestive organs getting overwhelmed by fluids, then not anymore. I can still move, but I felt pressure towards the right side of my body). I hope not...or if I have a hiatal hernia because anything I eat seems to affect my breathing and nerves...Or ascites...I constantly feel a leak from my right abdomen/pelvis...

I don't know what I'm dealing with, but anything that can lead to a faster solid diagnosis and treatment would be appreciated.
Thank you.

Hello~I am so sorry you are experiencing this. Some of your symptoms do sound like GERD or a hiatal hernia. If you haven't already, I would make an appointment with a gastroenterologist, they might be able to give more insight on what is going on.

Thank you SassyLassie. I'll see a gastroenterologist at some point, given the medical odyssey I've been through at this point. I was concerned about various things, but ok, at least the fibroid got ruled out.
