He probably ate something that did not agree with his stomach. One safe way to get rid of stomach bacteria / virus is by taking Activated Charcoal pills. Its the same charcoal we give in the Emergency room to absorb - remnants of drug overdose. Then it passes out thru the stools. The bottle will have instructions as to how to take it. In his case, it will absorb whatever is causing his sickness. This same activated charcoal is one of the Cures for Traveler's Diarrhea. My son traveled the world alone and I got him this as I read it from the Traveler's guide. t works ! Activated charcoal has several other uses..  my family now uses it for anything that causes nausea, vomiting, abdominal cramps from gas, bloating.. Just remember that it will absorb anything, so don't take your medications with it. I always have a bottle in my Medicine Cabinet and has been very handy. it's safe,
It comes as pills. Inexpensive, the activated charcoal is processed  from burnt coconut shell. It should be at regular drug stores..

I have received a message from Wombat saying that there is a stomach parasite going round.

So if your dad is not better yet, it may be a good idea to get him checked out.

I do not know which part of the States the outbreak is, but now doubt you may know more from your local press or TV.

Best wishes.

Hello Kian,  how is your dad?  We hope he is doing better.  Did you take him to the doctor?  What did he say?  Will he be okay now?

As you can see, we are truly interested in knowing how your father is doing.   Please let us know how he is...

Sounds like he has a touch of food poisoning.

Only give him sips of water and diluted fruit juice and nothing more, until his stomach settles down.

If it does not settle down after 24 hours, with him not eating anything and he has a fever then seek medical advice.

Vomiting and diarrhea is the body's way of getting rid of poisons and irritants.

When he starts to eat, start of bland foods until he can stomach that before he progresses on to eating normally.  Tell him to always wash is hands after using the toilet and washing his hands before he eats.  Any salads and fruits should be washed before eating.

Best wishes.

It could be blockage - and it could be serious - my Mom had blockage and had to have a resection of her intestines.  She claims there was no pain - only vomiting and nausea.

Please have him go to the ER
