What insect bite is this?

Location: Brisbane, Australia
I first thought it looked like a brown recluse spider bite, but apparently we don't have them here. At least there have been no documented bites from a brown recluse in Australia ever.
It's been there for about 24 hours, I suppose, and it's very itchy but the itchiness comes and goes. It's not sore.
I'm on holidays so I've been spending a lot of time in bed, so it's unlikely to be anything from outside.
What is it and how do I treat it?

You could always apply Neomycin/polymyxin B/bacitracin ointment as a first aid treatment and if it goes away pretty soon, then you don't have to worry much.

He would probably have wait a month  to see a dermatologist. Wife did in Perth and the guy was totally inept and overpriced- toss a battery of tests at her, generic treatments with terrible handwriting and no explanations and no positive results or positive outcomes. Better to see a GP with skin specialisation. In Japan, she had very little wait and the doctor gave her a cream that worked immediately. We get mouse spiders in Australia which are poisonous and mobile also funnel webs which in the ground and redbacks which are mostly in hollows. Also a number of poisonous insects.

Hello,

I would have a dermatologist take a look at it, and if they get worse, go to the A&E to get medication for it.
