What is wrong with my stomach?

About a month ago I got a stomach bug from my brother and I’ve haven’t been right ever sense.
Everyone in the house got it and we all got over it around the same time. I thought I had gotten much better but I noticed my stool was still loose and thin, I also noticed that it smelled really foul, had a strong onion like smell. The thing is my sweat underneath my armpit had a similar smell. This went on for about two weeks until I had a really bad episode. Diarrhea, vomiting, and severe dehydration, I had to go to the ER, they gave me fluids, They ran my blood ran my urine and they did a CT scan, all came back clear. But aside from throwing up my condition hasn’t really improved. Stool and sweat still smell foul, and I’ve also noticed I’m not quite absorbing food the way I should be, it seems to pass through me undigested. I’m really concerned it might be cancer, a lot of the information I find online( which is always  scary) seems to point to celiac disease, which is actually preferable to cancer, obviously.

I was just wondering if anybody had experienced something similar and could help me understand what’s going on with me. I have an appointment scheduled for this Monday but honestly the stress might be killing me faster than what is was actually wrong.

Hi! I would check for mono or mononucleosis. My brother went through very similar issues. Another suggestion is if you have any animals like dogs or cats you can be passing the stomach flu back and forth to each other.

Hello, I am so sorry you are going through this. It sounds to me like you could be deficient in digestive enzymes, it a person is on a long term of antibiotics, this can happen as they removed all the "friendly" bacteria and flora from your gut. I suggest purchasing some high potency digestive aids from the health food store and make sure they are the kind that need to be refrigerated, they are the best.

Hugs and blessings.

Thank for the response! I’m certain I’m low on digestive enzymes but I’ve not been on antibiotics for years. I did have COVID in early January though. Do you think it might have gotten rid of some of my enzymes and the stomach bug took out the rest?

I don’t even know where to look for a health food store let alone digestive aids, do you have any suggestions on stores or what brand of aids?
Hello. The Covid could definitely gotten rid of the needed enzymes and the stomach bug didn't help matters any.

A good place to get digestive aids is from an on-line company called "I-herb. They carry many different brands and their prices ste reasonable with usually free shipping. Type in digestive aids on the site and it will bring up a good selection. I like the following companies: Solaray, Now, Source Naturals.

If you don't want to go on-line, then look up health food stores in your area, most carry the brands I mentioned plus others I am sure.
