Why does my heart shake

I am a 19 yr old female and have no medical conditions. I feel my heart shake or quiver quite often. It's been almost every couple days the past few months. It feels like it quivers for a few seconds then goes away. Usually happens once or twise. There are no other symptoms with it, and I have a regular HR and BP. I have pretty bad anxiety and have had it all my life. I feel like it comes on when I'm nervous or even relaxed lying in bed. It's scares me so bad because I always think the worst of things and think I'm gonna have to get heart surgery or have something seriously wrong with my heart! I freak out after I happens and my heart rate does go
up because I'm so scared of it! I've been really stressed out the past few months with a lot of things and it's seemed to get more frequent.

Hello~It sounds like anxiety to me. I, too, have shakes, but they are actually skipped beats and usually always benign. I find the more I stress over them the worse they get as they are usually caused by stress.  In a structually normal healthy heart, they are nothing to worry about, some folks have hundreds a day. Here is a link to our excellent heart rhythm forum, it has helped me lots.  https://www.medhelp.org/forums/Heart-Rhythm/show/92

I hope you feel better soon and that those horrid shakes/skips stop.

Oh wow! I totally forgot I even posted this years ago. Thanks for replying! Unfortunately it still happens but I think it’s stress related
Most of the time they are stress related. They can also be due to a hiatal hernia and lots of gas/bloat. Try taking a high potency pro-biotic and also the herb called Hawthorne Berry, many folks have great success with that. :-)

No I haven’t. I asked my doctor and he seemed to not be concerned about it. Only thing is I notice it happens a lot when I lay on my back. I posted this about 2 years ago and it still happens! I’m 22 now
