dizziness

Hi All,

every day for the past 2 weeks I've been experience this dizzy sensation which comes in waves for a few seconds at different points during the day. It's somewhat hard to describe, its a very mild sensation. for lack of a better way to describe it, it would be like the feeling you get when a plane is descending quiet suddenly. its that type of sensation. just a little history, I have had a terrible cold the past few MONTHS!!! i suffer with colds. i also get ( Been two weeks since i got it) this sound of humming in the ears like a vibration. i need to move my head or grind my teeth for the sound to go away which steers me towards thinking it could be a problems in my ear which make my head feel off. the sensation I'm getting, i get whether I'm walking sitting or lying down.

Just to add another point, i also suffer (well kind of) with anxiety the past few years. it comes and goes. certain situations trigger it. but I've never had this woozy sensation in my head every day! of course, I'm thinking worst case scenario.

Hoping someone can give some insight into what may be happening or if you require more info, please ask.

Thanks All.

hi guys,

Really appreciate the reply.. The dizziness isn't AS bad, although it's still lingering in the background. Its on the mend which is the main thing. Cheers for the advice, i will give that a go in the morning. I also get the odd crawling sensation at the top of my head. I presume it's my sinuses and whatever else causing all this. A head cold for a month or two just could not have done me any good.

Anyway, will keep you posted.

Thanks again :)

Because you have had a cold for the past 2 weeks, it is highly likely that you still have congestion and possibly an inner ear infection.

The congestion which is behind the ear drum can press on it, causing the sensations.  Vibrations that can be heard may indicate an ear drum problem.

To help to decongest the tubes you can do steam inhalations.  Boil up a kettleful of water (taking care not to get scalded).  Pour this into a bowl and put in some Vick or Olbas oil.  Bend your head over the bowl and cover your head and the bowl with a towel.  Breathe in the steam for about 10 minutes duration and try and do this about 4 times each day.  It will help to ease off the congested tubes.

Ear wax does not normally make you feel dizzy, but it will make your ear feel like you have cotton wool stuck in there.  Should the doctor see any congested ear wax, you will be told to put in some oil to soften the wax before it is able to be syringed.

Make an appointment to see your doctor so that he can check your ears for any infections.  If there is any in the ear canal the doctor will prescribe some antibacterial ear spray or drops.

Sounds like your ears may need to have wax removed. That would take of the vibrations in your ears. It would take care of your dizzyness. If not contact doctor. Nothing major but still see your doctor. They will do the cleaning.
