I have been running 3 miles a day fro 3x a week, until recently because i have been experiencing really aching pain in my knee and if i keep running it becomes really painful like i have torn something, and sometimes my knee gives way too, if i stop running and walk the pain wears off for a while, i have had an 6-8 week rest, but it still hurts when i try to bend my knee, it pulls really tight and hurts, haven`t tried running fully yet, sometimes the knee hurts really bad , it hurts in the back of the leg too. And also when i kneel on it .

I have arthritis in both knees and had to switch to speed walking rather then running or jogging. Jogging can cause damage to the knee due to impact as you run or jog. Hopefully you don't have a torn meniscus. I see a orthopedic specialist about my knees.

I have had this as well. the orthopedic diagnosed it as arthritis and no cartlige in my knee. This is a normal thing for runners they say and I am not a runner. I also felt the pain that you are feeling. They told me that I had a cyst in the back of my knee that bursted.
You really should get to a ortho doctor so that they can rule out those things.
Take care and try not to go running until you find out what is going on, you do not want to injure it anymore than it is.

I think you should get an appointment with an orthopedist to get your knee evaluated.  In the mean time, I would not run on it.
