NO, it means you have overgrown yeast in your body. If you have any risk of HIV or aids get it checked out. But most likely you have what I have, and it's yeast or candida. It can be passed on to us in birth. Things that aggravate it are sugar, sweets, soda, cakes, caffeine. If you can get some Grape Fruit Seed Extract in pill or liquid form. You can get this at a good health food store. It really helps. I also gargle with tea tree oil. Just 1-2 drops in warm water really help. And stop all sugar. If you are stressed or your immune system is compromised from a cold or recent flu you can get this.
If you are obese your body is telling you that it's time to start looking at things. Your blood work came back normal and that is because you are young but that could change with time. Also look at making changes to your diet. Try to eat breakfast every day. I tried the Special K plan. I have Special K cereal every morning, then around 10:30am string cheese and a small apple. Then I go to the gym and walk in the pool for 30-40 minutes 2-3 times per week. Then I have lunch. A turkey sandwich, on a good whole grain bread. (white breads) will make the thrush worse. Lowfat mayo or mustard, lettuce and tomatoe. You can have a small salad. Yogurt is also very good for thrush. I love Greek Goddess, honey. It's very high in fat so if you want try a low fat yogurt for now. But not one with sugar or all that fake fruit at the bottom, it will aggravate the thrush.
Eating more protein and vegetables will help your immune system, and help keep the thrush/over active yeast in your body under control. There are also "yeast cleanses" you can buy and do. I've never done one. If it gets very bad the doctor can prescribe Nystatian. You gargle and swallow it or it's a pill.
But don't worry, it just means your immune system is fighting off something and all the websites come up with Aids the minute you do a search on thrush. Again if you have any reason to think that have it checked but thrush is over active yeast in our body and it is aggravated by simple sugars and our diet. It also causes chronic pain, headaches, depression, panic attacks. It's one of the most under diagnosed things.
Best to you.
no...it does not mean you have HIV...but as soon as you go to a dr they will think so too. I have a similiar problem with yeast in my esophagus and my mouth prob once a month for years, at least the mouth. For my esophagus its been confirmed 9 times. Everytime I get an endoscopy. I am 20 years old, but I was tested for HIV, knowing I didnt have it, and I didnt. Its unusal but I have a lot of other medical conditions that make me a difficult case. They did a bunch of blood thinking it was an immune system dysfunction...everything fine...I would get it checked out..be prepared they are going to think HIV but if your not sexually active or use a condom, or dont have any tattoos its very highly unlikely you have it. Hope I helped.

Try not to worry. This is not uncommon and your Dr can give you medication for it. Take care. Remar
