softball size welts!! :[

So, before everyone jumps to the conclusion of bed bugs, fleas, ticks, or mosquitos let me explain. I met my boyfriend and shortly after I started sleeping at his place I started to get these welts that were about 3 inches across and circular. In the middle there was a little pustule, and they always appeared after I woke up. The 2nd day they hurt the most, like to the touch they hurt. The one I have now went from being the size of the last ones, to being the size of a softball, actually a little bigger. Its not really swollen, its just a light red. Its doesnt itch, its the only one, and it doesnt hurt all that much. I went to the doctor and she told me that it was a bug bite, and it was nothing to worry about. I for one, am freaked out about the size of it. I am about to take some benedryl for it, cause I think it might be an allergic reaction to like a flea bite or something. I do have a dog, who sleeps in the bed and she sleeps at my legs, which leads me to believe that it might possibly be a flea or tick bite. I am just so concerned with the size. I dont have any other symptoms...does anyone have any ideas? I also lived with my mom who had fleas and ticks, and I never got this welts before. They are only one at a time, and when one goes away another one appears.

I saw something on a TV show that this post reminded me of.  Perhaps it's a ganglion cyst?

It could be a flea bite, I would see a dermatologist and have it looked at especially if it gets worse.
