Hello,
i have suffered an assault a year ago , since felt immense pain and numbness on the right side and between shoulder blades, sometimes rib cage ...ive been on varius medication ..pain killers lyrica muscles relaxants anti inflammatory meds and have done physio but my lifestyles has diminished and i have 4 children to care for  ...i need help understanding what this means ? were i can take steps to recover ,,increase capability to resume activities  i also suffer from ptsd .

i have had two MRI, the latest one indicates normal alignment ,curvature: loss of lordosis . no fractures, normal marrow signal..c2 to 5 indicates without stenosis or herniation. c5-6 minimal central disc protrusion without stenosis  c6-7 central and right paracentral disc osteophytes  complex..no stenosis there is however progression of edematous changes involving end plates.

there are slight end plates irregularity with small intervertebral disc herniations without end plate edema at t-10-11 and t11-12

degenerative disc disease at l4-5 with central disc protrusion without stenosis..
thank you

I understand why you are cautious around people like you are.  I went through a time when I did the same thing following my assault.    I went to my pastor and his wife for counseling which helped me immensely.  Also, when I see a new dr I bring someone that I trust with me.  My advice to you is to see a chiropractor but take a friend or relative with you that you trust and know that these people are professionals who are there to help you.  Also, make sure he or she knows that you were assaulted and have PTSD so you need them to tell you every move they make and why.  I would also seek counseling if you have not done so already.

If you haven't tried a chiropractic approach this may be quite helpful. Being a medical person, I was not a believer until my back pain got so bad after a year of medical treatment that I went to chiropractor.  After 4 weeks of adjustments, therapy and rehab, I walked out feeling good again.

Your symptoms sound like you've got some nerve impingement and that's what the chiro's are good at relieving. If you decide to try this bring your MRI's with you.

I don't know for sure but my idea is that you might have nerve damage but I am no doctor but that is my guess hope it helps
