Capillaritis

My 15 year old was diagnosed with capillaritis in  April   Since then the rash has spread all over her body. Has anyone got any suggestions? Any remedies that they have found helps?  Or has anyone had PUVA ? I know there's not a cure but would be nice to know anyone else who is suffering as there doesn't seem a lot of help out there.

I did a quick web search and found the following list of treatments that eased the symptoms of capillaritis.  NOTE: ALWAYS ASK YOUR DOCOR BEFORE TRYING ANYTHING.  This list is for you to take to your doctor, and ask about them.  Blessings - Blu

1 Plasmapheresis
2 Cyclophosphamide (Endoxana)
3 Steroids
4 Fibrinogen
5 rituximab
6 Sirolimus (Rapamune)
7 Rabbit anti-human T-lymphocyte globulin (Thymoglobulin)
8 mercaptopurine (Purinethol)
9 Prednisone (Decortisyl)
10 Cyclosporine (Sandimmune)

Sorry to hear about your daughter.

As you already know there is no cure for capillaritis and that it is not harmful, but can cause embarrassment due to the red or brown patches that appear.

As your daughter now has a rash that has spread over her body, she may have an infection as well as the capillaritis.

She may have a food allergy and may be sensitive to her medication, if her condition has got worse since using it.

I would only use non-biological washing detergents and gently fabric softeners.  She may have a sensitivity to normal soap, shower gel or bubble baths.

Pour a couple of handfuls of oats to her bath water and see if this helps her skin.  My 8 year old grandson thought it was rather funny that I bathe with oats in my bath water.  He agreed to try it last night and quite enjoyed it.

If she has an allergy to soaps (these are very drying anyway), the doctor could prescribe a bath emollient.

Keep a record to find out if anything that she is in contact with or eats or drinks makes her condition worse.

As her condition has got much worse, I would suggest you take her back to see the doctor to make sure she has not got an infection and to check her out for any allergies.

Best wishes.
