why won’t my sprained ankle heal ?

I sprained my ankle more than three months ago, I was in a walking boot for six weeks as well as physical therapy. MRI 2 months later still shows a grade 2 sprain with swelling inside the joint  as well as soft tissue swelling.  Why won’t this heal? I’m still having a lot of pain and walking/pressure is not getting less painful.

Hello~I hope your ankle is better. If it isn't, I would try seeing a chiropractor, you may have some misalignment in your food from the sprain. He/she may ask to see any x-rays or MRI's, after looking them over, he will be able to tell if chiropractic will be of some benefit to you.

That's got to be really frustrating.  I assume you are working with your doctor?  You actually may just need to give it more time.  It can take up to 4 months to heal. Here's some info. https://www.webmd.com/pain-management/ankle-sprain#1.

Hang in there.  Do you plan to do physical therapy to get back in the swing of things?  It can help to rehab the ankle after this type of long term recovery.  good luck
