Can laparoscopic surgery be performed more then once?

I will be having laparoscopic surgery next week to remove 7cm cyst on ovary. I'm 48 and she is removing my ovary and tubes. I'm very bloated, look pregnant and assumed it was from 4 pregnancies. I'm aware that my gallbladder is filled with stones but no attacks in the 8 yrs I have known about them. If I need to have my gallbladder out in future, can it be laparoscopic? Or should I have removed at the same time as ovaries? Thanks!

Yes it can be performed the same way.

Donna has given you the correct answer that if you need to have your gallbladder removed in the future, it can also be done laparoscopically.

But because you are not currently having problems with your gallbladder, and because ALL surgery presents risks, it is highly improbable that your surgeon will perform unnecessary surgery.

I think the advice we would both give you is to discuss this with your surgeon.

Best wishes for a speedy recovery
