Polycystic Ovary Syndrome

I was recently diagnosed with PCOS by my gynecologist. My menstrual cycle fluctuates between 24-29 day cycle and I also experience intermenstrual bleeding. Since I am having a monthly period, that means that I am ovulating therefore is it possible that I can be infertile although I am ovulating?

Hello,

Infertility can have multiple causes.  Not ovulating, tubal disease and male factor are the most common.  I suggest you discuss your concerns with your ob/gyn.

Best regards,

You can menstruate without ovulating. Your GYN can perform blood tests to confirm if you are or are not ovulating. Having PCOS does make it harder to conceive for some women, but it's not impossible! So no need o worry about being infertile, there is help out there.
