possible infection

I had sex with an escort on 6/14.  The vaginal sex was protected, but I received unprotected oral sex for quite a long time.  When I got home I noticed an open, slightly bleeding sore on the underside of my penis.  Not sure how it got there, what it was, probably just from friction, but i guess i could unknowingly have herpes or something else, it was a small round sore, looked like a popped blister. In any case, I dismissed it, but now 6 days later I have a slight fever and a very sore throat.  I don't ever get sick and have not interacted with anyone besides my boss, who is healthy, in the last week.

Is it at all possible to contract HIV or another blood borne disease through the open cut that I had? I know that normally oral is not a high risk act, however, due to the open cut and the roughness of the fellatio, as well as my current illness, i am quite concerned.  If not, maybe you could elaborate a bit to ease my anxiety. Also, I received oral prior to putting on the protection and having vaginal sex, as well as after the sex, and ejaculated in her mouth. Is it worth getting an early screening test, or not necessary? Please advise and thank you very much. -C

Is there no follow up here? just curious. I'm wondering where to address my second question. Also still have discoloration in my eyes, is that normal for a viral infection?

Ok, thank you for your help. I understand the mechanics more clearly now. I will probably get tested for my own peace of mind, what is the recommended test other than the PCR and what is the soonest i should take it? 5 weeks?

Hello,
Thank you very much for your post and welcome to our forum.
Firstly I would like to reassure you from the point of view of symptoms.  It is impossible to develop HIV sero-conversion symptoms, or eve Hepatitis C symptoms after only six days following infection.  Therefore I do not believe that your symptoms have anything to do with either HIV or Hepatitis C.  They are most likely to be related to a simple viral illness.
HIV sero-conversion symptoms would normally happen at some stage between 2 and 6 weeks, and not before 2 weeks, like in your case.
Secondly your sexual encounter can be considered very low risk or no riks at all, even in the presence of a cut on your penis.  A condom wass used for penetration, and receiving oral sex would not pose any risk of HIV infection, simply because the lady would have had to have a large amount of blood in her mouth without any saliva, as saliva neutralises the virus.  Coming into contact with infected vaginal fluid outside of the body would pose a very small risk also as the vitus becomes unstable very quickly.  Therefore I believe that is highly unlikely.  This is all assuming that the lady was positive.  Infection would normally only happen through unprotected penetration, and the transmission occurs inside of the body, with the penis sorrounded by infected vaginal fluid, and the friction of sexual intercourse facilitates the transmission.
Hepatitis C is very difficult to be transmitted through sexual intercourse.  It is normally associated with intravenosu drug users.
Finally, I would not recommend a test.  However the only justification for you to have the early detection test (PCR RNA) would be for your peace of mind.
Best wishes,
Dr José

Fever is gone, but continue to have very sore and dry throat, stomach pain, and my eyes are discolored in the area where the white of the eye is exposed to light. if i open the eyelid it is brighter white underneath, with a distinct boundary. never seen this before. could this be hepatitis C?

Also, Is it possible for the HIV virus to go into the open wound as one unrolls the condom? I mean, if the virus is in the female secretions, then isn't it possible for some of those secretions to still get into the wound, either from her hand or my hand (from touching the condom) or from the taking off of the condom itself?  I guess I am not clear about how transmission can occur, and would love a detailed explanation...  I know that if the sex is unprotected and I have a sore, then my risk is heightened, so what exactly lessens that risk if the female secretions touch the wound post-intercourse?
