insertive oral sex

Dear Doctor,
I have come across so many sites which gives confusing statement on insertive oral sex. Some say the risk is zero to some say some risk.but International journal of STD and AIDS vol 22 , 2011  on PrEP, page 696,  table2 clearly indicated that the risk of insertive oral sex  is zero. now why i am so concerned about this. Last month a girl gave unprotected blowjob (my penis is in her mouth) which lasted for just 10 secs. i withdrew and ejaculated outside. i see no blood involved and her oral hygine seems to be ok. I have only this incident which you can say high risk otherwise i have never been in any sex relationships in my life. can i get hiv from this encounter? please give me a correct answer regarding this.
thanx

Welcome to our Forum.  I'll address your questions.   Before I do however, let me point out that if you ask these questions of different sources, and particularly of different on-line sources, you will get different answers.  Some sources including most governmental agencies, provide general recommendations for virtually everyone without the sort of interactions such as those you get with your doctor or on personalized sites such as this one.  Many of these sources feel they cannot "afford" to be wrong and therefore make overly conservative recommendations and guidelines which leave most people unnecessarily nervous for 4-6 weeks longer than the 6-8 weeks it takes virtually everyone to develop HIV antibodies.    The fact is that there are no well documented cases in which HIV has clearly been transmitted through oral sex.

In your own case, you have a single exposure from a partner who is quite unlikely to have HIV.   Even if she did however there is no reason to worry that you might have gotten HIV from this exposure and no reason for testing related to the events you describe.

I hope this information is helpful.  EWH

Not you should not worry.  Acid reflux is not a sign of HIV and is more likely to be a manifestation of anxiety than anything else.  You've had it before, I would not worry about it an would suggest you manage it in the same that you have previously.  EWH
