The window period is becoming shorter and shorter and we consider testing results after 42 days as reliable. In cases of high risk we advise a routine follow up test (one month later). We also encourage people to do another test if they still feel unsure ( not because we doubt the initial result but because the test is fairly cheap and some people just need more reassurance to be able to put the episode behind them). If you feel another test will help reassure you feel free to do another one (just know that it is meant to ease your mind and not to question the original result).
