Seriously worried about HIV and test

Hello there,

I recently posted about myself having oral protected sex with a CSW (| condom used) which was all i did,

My question is now i have been coughing and head a heavy head, I decided to take a std/sti test 3 days after,  on an Monday, as the encounter was on Friday night and here in uk most clinics are shut weekends.
After alot of anxiety 4 days late (Friday) I decided to to take a HIV blood test. this would be a week after encounter.

I am still waiting for my HIV results as the clinic has told me If i hear anything within the two weeks they would let me know.

-My question is did I take them Too early to get results the clinic said it was ok, but i read people here taking it weeks after, and i am now into the third week after exposure and ending the two week after blood test.
Getting confused with times and this prep medication stuff as they say 72 hours of exposure.

Can someone help me please, please

it takes 28 days for antibodies to form in your system for a test to dectect HIV. The DUO test is currently the only test that can detect HIV conclusively that early.

Thank you for your help, anxiety just leads me to think it, have a good day,

lastly if its not a problem If i may ask, just for my knowledge this prep test is 72 hours after exposure, if im correct, how would a person know about exposure if the test are not detectable so early?

Kind regards and have a good day bobcat37

The fastest and most conclusive test you can take is a 4th generatino DUO test at 28 days. No point in testing before then. As I said unprotected oral sex is NOT A RISK. You had Protected Oral sex which again is NO RISK.

Thanks he only reason I decided to do so was cough and pains, whilst reading this forum I have discovered symptoms are not a sign and oral is not a risk and even more not with use of protection.

I asked again as my cough re occurred and the forums stating the HIV Test result periods. i was unware the time and told via the clinic 2 weeks would give any results? not sure if I should ask another test if it was too soon?

oral sex is not a risk for HIV no need to have taken a test. If you did have an exposure 1 week is to soon to get conclusive results.
