7wks negative, further test?
received unprotected oral for 3mins from SW , very worried!!! can't sleep
test on
28days - quick test - negative
49days - HIV combined test Ag/Ab - non-reactive
i am very worried as i am married. need further test at wks 12 / 13?

You should not need any further testing, because contracting HIV from oral sex is very low risk. Being that you were the reciever that puts you at an even lower risk.I would not get any further testing, but if it helps you feel better go ahead.It most likely will come back negative

Yes it can, but it is so low risk that people don't find it a concern. If someone is giving and they happen to have a cut or any sores in their mouth and someone ejaculates in their mouth or even precum they can contract it. There have been cases where people have contracted HIV from oral sex but as said before those occasions. Paul you do not have to worry though. be careful in the future though
please do not be giving out incorrect information. obviously you are NOT educated in hiv transmission or you wouldnt be here with questions of your own.
there have been several studies done that PROVE...WITHOUT A DOUBT...that oral sex does NOT transmit hiv. there are NO verified cases of hiv being transmitted through oral sex only.

Dr. Hook sometimes said oral is a ultra low risk, should i take this as a reference.
if it is a ultra low risk, should i wait for 3months for my re-test. i really can't sleep until i know i am safe and stay safe with my wife. i hate myself as i do something hurt her.
sorry i don't suppose not to trust both lizza and teak as you are great in these area, but i am quite confusing about the information re this and the testing window period time.

Oral-penile sex carries risk of gonorrhea, nongonococcal urethritis (NGU), syphilis, and herpes due to HSV-1. But the risk is low even with prolonged exposure and near zero for the brief exposure you describe. And if you caught any of these, most likely you would develop obvious symptoms. If you don't develop penile sores or abnormal discharge in the 2 weeks following the exposure, don't worry about it. I do not recommend testing if you have no symptoms. There is no risk for HPV or chlamydia.
There is no debate (among experts) about the HIV risks associated with oral sex. The risk is so low that almost nobody who cares for HIV infected patients has ever had a patient believed to have been infected that way. Among experts, it's a semantic issue about using terms like "no risk" and "very low risk". There is no difference between my or Dr. Hook's use of "low risk" and other experts' "no risk".
If I were in your situation, knowing what I know, I would not be tested for HIV or any other STD, and I would continue unprotected sex with my wife. That should tell you how low the risk is -- even while admitting some theoretical risk. So please move on. This issue isn't worth the level of emotional energy you are putting into it.

Teak, my doctor told me that my 49days - HIV combined test Ag/Ab - non-reactive is very reliable and more than 99% claimed that i won't catch HIV. Should I take this + your comment - Oral sex no risk and then move on...
I got sore throat, headache and dry coughing from 8wk to 9wk. it won't be the HIV symptons , right?

Thanks for your comment and i would like to tell the people i got my test after 12wks and the result is negative.
just to give the people to read this forum a example to show Teak and Lizziu comment is correct and don't make yourself crazy after oral sex. it's not worth paying 100% worry on this, spending few hrs to seek information from the internet, etc... and should move on.

My circumstances are similar to Paul2paul
1. Male Hetro
2.Oral reciever about 36-38 days ago ( discretion- once of) and did not cum in her mouth
3. HIV test 32 Days negative
4. Sore throat started about on 31 day mark and still going but no probs swollowing etc
5. No fever, or other obvious signs of ARS ( aprt from stress related)
6. Have wife and need to decide my next course of action
terribly worried and would like advice

terribly worried and would like advice
based on my experience, trust Teak and Lizzie and they are expert in this area. My doctor also told me that the risk tends to ZERO when i go for the test. Have a STDs test to further make yourself relief.
