84 Day HIV Result - NEGATIVE - Conclusive?

Hi Dr,

I live in the UK, I had two sexual encounters on the 1st of August and then again on the 6th of August. Both were protected (As far as I know, I couldn't tell any leakage/breakage) with CSW's. Vaginal insertive intercourse.

I had these tests done at a GUM Clinic in Scotland (NHS). They took a blood sample from my arm for the test and I think it may be a 4th Generation test.

My test results are as follows;

4 Weeks HIV - Negative
8 Weeks HIV - Negative
12 Weeks HIV (31st of October)/86 Days - Negative

I've noticed my anxiety slightly creep back up, I don't know why. I've read online on the website called 'TheBody' which states that upwards of 6 MONTHS may be required for a conclusive HIV result?

I'm unsure if my results are conclusive, I got tested around 86 days after my last encounter. I've had no other sexual encounter from that time until now. Do I 100% not have HIV, and any health issues I am experiencing are unrelated? Do I not require further testing?

Maybe the information I am reading is outdated, but it surely does increase my anxiety. Last time I was on this forum I received great support and advice, and am just looking for that again.

(Also, are tests where they extract blood 4th Generation?)

Thanks!

You wasted your time testing if you used a latex condom because there is zero risk. Your anxiety will disappear if you accept the above.

Time to get back to your happy life .
I Just wanted to be safe. Are my results conclusive? Would I need to test again or is the 84 day period 100% conclusive?
Your question makes no sense since you are already safe. You have no more chance of HIV than being a pregnant male but you don't test for that.
No I basically want to know is the window period correct? Are 86 days sufficient for a 100% conclusive result? Is the 6 month guideline outdated?
I'm really sorry to be a pain, but I am quite worried.

Is my result conclusive? I also got vaccinated at the same clinic for Hepatitis B, will that affect the window period?
If you had an actual risk then yes, your results would be conclusive. But as AnxiousNoMore stated, you had no actual risk. Your vaccine wouldn't effect your window period. You tested, you used condoms. You have every reason to let this go.
That's understandable. I was calmed down for quite a while but my anxiety shot back up for some reason. I've not had any exposure since the 6th of August.

The internet just has a lot of conflicting information, generally the consensus is that with a 4th Generation ELISA, 3 months is conclusive, yet I have still seen some people say 6 months is conclusive, 3 Months is a good indication. This obviously makes someone like me more worried.

So all in all, 3 months is conclusive? 100%, no further testing is required and if I do have a long term partner/spouse now, I can engage in unprotected sex should I want?
Yes to your questions.
Thank you, so the 6 month is outdated? or what. Is that for older tests?
This was posted 2010 when the Drs used to have a paid service here. Testing is now 6 yrs advanced.

I see, of course if I had Hep C, I would know? Wouldn't I. I don't use injections or anything like that.

I think I just need to calm myself down and ease up on the sudden rush of anxiety. I don't know what caused it all of a sudden, I was perfectly calm after my 3 month result but it suddenly shot up again.
HIV science is 40 years old but you are not accepting it and instead are making up your own science that requires testing when a condom is used, then adding to your new science by not accepting the test which doubly proves you have no risk.

A therapist might be needed to help you escape from this HIV fixation.
