Am I at risk of HIV?

Hi,
I have been going to this masseuse for massage for a couple of years now. 6-8 times in the past year. Last time, she licked my penis shaft without condom. And, we ended up having penetrative sex with condom. Unfortunately the condom broke in between and she realized that immediately and I pulled out. I then put a new condom on and finished the act.The condom was completely broken and it was about 10-15 seconds exposure before I pulled out. I'm really worried now. Infection  probable?

I asked her about any possible infection(STD and other stuff) she may have had. But her reply was that she's disease free. And, in the past one year, she had sex with only two other people and she had protected sex with them. She's not a commercial sex worker.

I'm really scared now. I'm married and my partner didn't know this. Should I avoid having unprotected sex with her until I confirm I'm HIV negative?

Talk with a doctor regarding pep. It will be a decision you make with him. Hope all will be well with you.

I'm within 72 hours window. Not even 24 hours since the act. Do you think I need to have PEP?

Pep is taken within 72 hours post unprotected exposure. Beyond that it is no longer effective. Statisticaly the odds are in your favor unprotected vaginal sex carries 0.04-0.05 percent chance of getting HIV. I am not saying it is low risk. But it is a risk. So better get tested at 28 days with a duo test to be sure. Hope all will be well with you. Take care!

Hi,
Thanks for your reply. I know I'm at risk and I don't know if I needed PEP. Any idea about that?

Thanks,

Unprotected or protection failed (condom failure) sex equally puts us at the risk of HIV whenever we get involved with someone, outside our mutually committed long term monogamous relationship.Your exposure is there since you are not sure about the health status of the lady.

If your last exposure is older than 4 weeks, go get yourself tested for 4th generation HIV Duo (Antibody + Antigen) test, collect your conclusive report and move on with your life
