HIV Scare ...Help Please

Hallo...I am little worried about a possible HIV risk. Let me describe my action first. I met a guy and we french kissed for few minutes at the end of our date..I know that you cannot get HIV from kissing but I do bleed slightly when I brush my teeth..but that stops in a few minutes..but have not brushed before I kissed the guy...I am not sure whether the guy had bleeding gums but dont think so..Is it still possible I might be in risk because of this activity?..I also read from an article from CDC that there was one case where the cause of HIV infection might be from deep kissing ...So how worried should I be...I also called my local HIV center and they said I dont need any testing..Should I still go for a test or put this to rest?
Thanks so much for your answers.

From what you describe, you were not at risk. The mouth is a very hostile environment for HIV. There are enzymes in saliva that render the virus unable to infect. The reported case to the CDC is rather suspect. There were other factors involved that were more likely the cause of transmission. You can search past threads here and find all the info you'll need to put your mind at ease. Just some food for thought: If deep kissing were to be a risk and with all the kissing going on in the world today, HIV would have wiped out the human race a long time ago. There has NEVER been a clear documented case of HIV being transmitted via kissing, deep or not, and you will not be the first. Stay safe!
