Can anyone answer this question plz

hi all,

there was a question years back that Dr.H didnt answer (if he did please guide me to the link) . So it is knowing that 3 month testing using any method of test is considered conclusive, is this true  regardless the risk factor. for example (un protected anal sex with a gay man or a prostitute who are positive ) would testing at 3 month mark still conclusive? just want to understand if 12 weeks conclusivity takes in account the risk factor. higher risk means more months to wait ( Up to 12 months???)

cuz my exposure as i stated on my other post was protected, (now im thinking of it i was drunk and may/or may not wore a condom.) the condom box was on my drawer but im assuming now i didnt use it.

ive at 7 monnth mark (combo test -dont know which gen) and it came out negative..

He means that if someone is sexually active and engages in unprotected sex then s/he should get tested regularly at 6-12 month intervals.

Hi don't get hung up with posters opinions just back thread replies in the expert forum.  Basically he is saying get tested regularly if your sexually active and do not use protection. Anyway protection or none it is a good idea to get tested regularly.

3 months is always conclusive.

Agreed. But many specialists and Dr.H reads the forum. He can reply here if needs any clarification. Otherwise we can consider this question a myth. And 3month is conclusive no material how high the risk is.

thank you guys for the response, but is there any scientific proof or a study says that higher risk doesnt mean more months to wait.

because if read in a medical website that some cases patients need to retest at 12 month mark. is this statement ridiculous or what? because there was one guy here in the forum asked Dr. Haward same question but never got his answer.

You are HIV negative. No further testing needed. And no, higher risk doesn't mean more months to wait.
