Chances of contracting hiv

Hi everyone,

On april 2 ,2022 i went to a barber while he was giving the haircut he cut himself accidentally with the scissors and as soon as possible he went to clean it and applied a bandage and when he was about to start haircut I insisted him to wear a glove and clean his glove with sanitiser and scissors with after shave liquid and blow dry it for 5 sec which he did and started my haircut and he used trimmer as well to shave my beard . But after 2 weeks i was having sore throat and difficulty breathing i went to doctor he gave  me antibiotics and I explained him the scenario about what has happened at barber so he told the chances are low and i asked him to write hiv test and got tested for anti body test for hiv 1 and 2 on 22nd day after exposure to haircut and results were negetive but its been like 42 days since then i still have sore throat. Can you please help me with knowing are there any chances of contracting or should i retest it .

Thanks in advance .

Your situation involves personal contact with an object in air  (cut, blood etc. ). You will be happy to learn that you had no risk, because you can't get hiv from personal contact except unprotected penetrating vaginal or anal with a penis, neither of which you did and you didn't share hollow needles to inject with which is the only other way to acquire hiv - there are ONLY 3 ways to get hiv. Note that 2 of them require a penis and the third requires a hollow injecting shared needle - there are no OTHER ways to get hiv. Analysis of large numbers of infected people over the 40 years of hiv history has proven that people don't get hiv in the way you are worried is a risk.
Hiv is a fragile virus in air or saliva and is effectively instantly dead in either air or saliva so the WORST that could happen is dead virus rubbed you, and obviously anything which is dead cannot live again so you are good. Blood and cuts would not be relevant in your situation since the hiv has become effectively dead, so you don't have to worry about them to be sure that you are safe.
There is no reason for a person to test when they are safe. The advice took into consideration that the other person might be positive, so move on and enjoy life instead of thinking about this non-event. hiv prevention is straightforward since there are only 3 ways you can become infected, so next time you wonder if you had a risk, ask yourself this QUESTION. "Did I do any of the 3?" Then after you say "No, I didn't" you will know that it's time to move on back to your happy life.
No one got hiv from what you did during 40 years of hiv history and no one will get it in the next 40 years of your life either.  You can do what you did any time and be safe from hiv.
The other person's status is irrelevant when you have no exposure to live virus.
You can't have hiv so any test was and will be a waste of time. Your doc just wrote the hiv test you because you were very anxious and he wanted to get you out of his office. This thought tht people get hiv from cuts IS NOT WELL THOUGHT OUT BY YOU AND YOUR DOCTOR -- everyone accidentally touches someone else's bleeding cut every year yet no one gets hiv.

Thanks for clearing the doubt . Is it because of anxiety or stress I developed some rash like 5-6 rashes  on my neck leg and hands  and visited dermatologist and asked him about is it an hiv rash and he mentioned it was rash because of dust or bed bugs but the image of blood cut which happened on the haircut day  flashes continues and its effecting my daily activity was not able to work and constantly thinking of the incident what if the test done is false negative and i stopped going outside and interacting with people from the past 40 days from that day constant urge to retest and any symptom i get like ear infection which i had recently and sore throat makes me panic and shiver what if this is hiv symptom constant googling all day checking for symptoms its effecting my life i want to get out of this and live a happy life but in the back of my head there is a fear what if the tests done on 22 nd day may not produce enough antibodies to detect in my body its literally killing my social and personal life and my personal growth. I am demotivated all day thinking about this,  afraid what if i get this and my life will be ruined forever  .Please can i get any suggestion how to overcome this I really need suggestion  .

Thanks

Hi everyone sorry to bother again but my my sore throat doesn’t go away and i had visited ENT hospital and doctor has mentioned mat be infection but its been 2 months from the encounter with the barber shop . Is it causing this ? Because i never had sore throat , jaw pain and ear pain for like 2 months , did a complete blood profile and it came normal except Absolute Lymphocyte Count : 4140 ( normal range is 1000 - 3000)  last month it was 3256 and WBC count also increased it was 8800 now it was 9200 . ENT doctor says its acceptable range but over internet high lymphocytes count indicate viral infection i don’t know if its a coincidence exactly after the visit to a doctor this all starting. Do i have to retest it are these the symptoms of HIV please enlighten me.

Air inactivates the virus and you'll never get HIV from an object touching you or you touching an object. Hair scissors and barber razors will not transmit HIV. The only ways to get HIV are to have unprotected vaginal or anal sex (with penetration) and sharing IV drug needles to inject drugs. This was not a risk.

Since you didn't answer the QUESTION that I listed on May 15, I will do it for you. ANSWER> No there wasn't a penis in my anus when the barber cut me and he didn't inject me with a hollow needle, so I should move on from hiv ideas and stop asking irrelevant questions about my sore throat.
You should continue seeing doctor instead of wasting any more time on this hiv fixation that leads you to try to self-diagnose disease despite you not having ANY medical training.
I'm sure it is frustrating to deal with pain but you won't find any answers here because this is purely an hiv  forum.
Yes I understand that there are no ways of contracting but hiv in my case but i dont know what all the symptoms i am getting are more accurate towards that recently i started having lower back pain , testicle pain and when i press the inner thighs i feel swollen lymph of like may be 1 cm and when i press them i feel little bit pain . So when i googled this it shows  one of the may possibly is a STI so when i search online  for what are STI’s it shows hiv is one of the STI so it panics me . Please help me in ruling out those symptoms . Thanks a lot everyone for your patience please help me in this .

As has already been stated, you can not get HIV from an object or scissor or barber. It is sexually transmitted. From unprotected vaginal or anal sex or sharing IV drug needles to inject drugs. You didn't need to test in the first place and do not need another test. NO RISK means no chance of this being hiv

HIV has already been ruled out as the cause of your symptoms, since you had zero risk for HIV.  See a doctor if you are concerned about your non-HIV related medical issues.
The first step to peace is to stop googling cold turkey. You have shown that it scares you so much that it makes you think an impossible hiv infection has occurred.
Besides, you don't have any medical training so likely don't know what your lymph is supposed to feel like so you should stop irritating whatever you are pressing on.
