Condom broke

I had sex with a guy a day ago and while we were at it the condom broke. However he told me he did have a similar experience in Jau of this year where the condom broke but the guy who was receptive was hiv negative, since the guy claimed he was negative. So my top and I are worried now, I may have been exposed to HIV but odds are in my favour since the giu who he topped was hiv negative as he claims. I am starting with PEP within 42 hours, what are my chances to turn postitive on PEP, and more over the guy whontopped me has a test result at 8pm today. So should I start with PEP or shall Inwait till 8pm for his results and then start PEP. Please advice
