Dildo use - scared for wife

I masturbated with a male of unknown status. He ejaculated on me. I removed a DVD from the DVD player and then tossed it in a drawer which contains my wifes sex toy (dildo), The DVD and the sex toy touched.

Assuming the guy was HIV+ and his semen made its way to the dildo via my hands  to the DVD & dildo, any risk for my wife if she used the sex toy shortly thereafter (in about 12 hrs?)

Any risk for my wife?

Should she be tested?

Has a case like this transmitted HIV?

You can stop worrying.Hiv is unable to reproduce outside its living host.It becomes inactive and therefore unable to infect. No risk for you or your wife and no testing required.Take care.

no possible way for hiv to be transmitted in this manner.

hiv is not transmitted from inanimate objects.   once exposed to air, it becomes inactive and unable to infect.

Lizzie, getitright77,

Thank you. Arent there cells in the vagina that are target cells for the virus to infect?

is 1-2 hrs enough time to inactivate the virus? Or longer?

ONCE exposed to air...hiv is rendered inactive.

Even IF there was blood on the dildo and my wife used it during her period after an hour or two, there would be no risk. Please let me know if this is correct or no?
