Do STI increase oral risk?

Hello

I read online that having syphilis or another oral std can increase hiv risks from giving oral sex to a male.

I don’t know if I have syphilis or any other stds, but I’ve never been tested for them.

I have been tested for hiv multiple times, including recently 3 months after unprotected sex

However, I gave oral a month ago, and had a sore in my mouth, maybe a syphilis sore or canker i don’t know? I’ll get tested for STIs soon, but does the presence of sti increase hiv from giving oral? I wasn’t planning on getting tested for oral since it’s considered a low risk, but the std thing scares me.

Oral sex is not a risk for transmitting HIV. Giving oral sex is not going to transmit HIV whether someone has an std or not.  You sound like you may have anxiety and I'd get some help for that.  But HIV is not a concern with oral sex.  Saliva and air inactivate the fragile HIV virus.
